I agree with that but I'll add that betabux is not chosen due to money alone but he provides something else, fulfills actual parental role that Chad couldn't do anyway. So betabux is necessary even if Chad only if they want to give that Chad's baby best possible upbringing.
I got confused and lacked precision in my words.
The original theory is called "LMS", acronym for Looks, Money and Status. Being more precise now:
"looks" mean genetic quality, which is also signalled by being NT, muscular, healthy etc.; a
"money" means the provision of resources, that is: money, but also time and energy. A guy who is generous with his time, money, energy, helpful, answers his messages quickly etc. is preferred as a betabux over someone who owns more resources but is not generous, that is: stingy.
Likewise, "status" here means the ability of the man to protect a foid from risk. It applies to any hierarchy. Policeman and criminals, invaders and military men, politicians and rebels, etc. All those are highly sought-after partners for the same reasons: they all are violence-users who are perceived to be able to protect a foid in case shit hits the proverbial fan.
What also happens a lot is men who put foids through risky situations (criminals, but also rebels, adventure sportsmen, motorcycle riders etc.). They become more desirable because a foid's primitive brain doesn't register the fact that the risk was introduced by the man, it only registers the fact that the man was by her side when she survived it, and therefore she "credits" her survival to him, he becomes "high-status" to her because he "protected her" from a risk he, in fact, created. This is also why foids stay with men who beat her -- her tiny primitive brain doesn't register the beating received as an existential risk, but focuses on the fact that a violent man is by her side and could protect her. Paradoxically, a woman feels more protected with a wife-beater than with a wimp.
Status is a placeholder for protection from risk.
So, the LMS theory should be better called GRS - genes, resources, security.
