Nothing awaits us in the future no colonization of space no robots no AI no cybrogs
You may not feel like it but we are living in the golden age of mankind with less wars less conflicts stable governments free trade and international corporations
We have medicine, painkillers, antibiotics, vaccines, technology, roads, cars, indoor plumbing, and modern devices for entertainment—at least for those with money.
However, in older times, even people *with* money didn’t have the same comforts as we do today.
But this is peak humanity; our species is headed for decline and will never be the same again.
Things will become **expensive** while the economy shrinks due to an aging population. Institutions like nurseries, schools, and colleges will become ghost towns. Entire cities will be abandoned—this is already happening in parts of Russia, Japan, Argentina, Sweden, and Korea.
Additionally, due to an older population, political rebellion will fade into the past, as older people will vote conservatively, as they always have.
The state will keep expanding, trying to tax more and impose regulations to "fix" the economy. This will fail and worsen the problem, especially as the population grows more left-leaning.
Humanity will die a slow and unremarkable death. Our population will halve every 80 years, starting from a peak of 10 billion in 2050. By 2130, it will drop to 5 billion. The decline will then accelerate, halving again in just 40 years (to 2.5 billion by 2170). In another 20 years (2190), it will plummet to 1.25 billion, with 70% of people over age 65. Ten years later (2200), it will shrink to 600 **million** (not billion) before stabilizing slightly.
By 2250, only 50 million humans will remain—mostly older than 70—dying out rapidly.
