watched my first anime ever : cyberpunk edgerunners

never liked the premise of anime as it is very foid worshipy and bluepilled but i liked cyberpunk 2077 so i thought i'd give the anime spinoff a watch

damn 10/10 what an experience. so fast paced, amazing visuals, good story, if you played the game tons of fun references to it, great music, and wow what a fucking perfect ending

if you haven't watched it i recommend you do.

it is short, and i wish it was longer, but i also respect that it is made to be short just like life in the dystopian hellhole of night city.

perfectly captures the aesthetic of cyberpunk

I put these types of fast pased action series above shounenslop because they cut to the action and wrap things up quickly instead of wasting your time hyping up mediocre plot and characters gay backstories etc. So it’s already a 6/10 because of that then I’d say the setting and everything is good so 8/10

Hmm the spic guy had to get fit first before he pulled the slut so that’s something. It’s pretty cliche how everyone dies to save the magic pixie girl but w/e, rebecca was cute and it’s funny the way adam smasher killed her.

Imaishi is a style over substance director who intentionally prioritises fast paced action and keeps the themes basic, I watched Kill La Kill and Gurren Lagann which were both entertaining but obviously shallow. Edgerunners has the same DNA but it works

oh yes, don't get me wrong I absolutely adore Cyberpunk aesthetic. I am looking for non conventional anime myself that don't have shounen elements or no foids at all preferably

Fun Shonen show that is short enough and exciting enough it is the exact opposite of one piece.
Dragonball but with mechs is how I would summarize it
