When Joker butchered that fat clown just before going on his own "day of retribution", was that some sort of "tribute" (for lack of better word) to Elliot Rodger?
Elliot Rodger stabbed to death his Asian mates before going out on "day of retribution". In a similar way, Joker butchered "one of his own" as well. The reasons were very similar too, even though this guy was hanging out with him he had an attitude that Joker didn't like.
Also the way Joker talked in the scene where he is on talk show with De Niro reminded me of Elliot Rodger a lot. For example Rodger was complaining about "obnoxious brutes", Joker complained that people aren't civil anymore. Joker basically behaved like a "supreme gentleman" in that show.
I don't mean to say that they wanted to glorify Elliot Rodger, maybe just taking inspiration from him.
