In my opinion, it's somewhere in between. And don't say no just because of the amount of food, or disease, or racism because we have all of that today. And by past I mean pretty much any era you want, even the early 2010's since each year gets more rotten as they progress.

In terms of getting a wife, yes it was better.

In every other aspect of living conditions, no not really unless you are talking about mid to late 20th century.

70s-2000s were probably the best time, mordern day luxury(except for internet and some other things) without the degeneracy.

Quality of life has gotten better, but social relations aka finding a wife and friends has gotten worse/harder

In terms of your prospects of getting and keeping a satisfactory partner as a man? Absolutely, 100%.

copes back then were awful.

Even that is kind of suspect. Having to wageslave to live in some crap apartment doesn't seem worth living for.

Wage slaving as some peasant with 0 rights is much worse.

If you apply yourself you can make more money then a min wage bumfuck, its not that hard.

No it wasn't. Don't be daft.

Depends on the time period. Life during the Depression and the World Wars was quite hellish. My grandfather described some of his experiences in Normandy and the Battle of the Bulge shortly before he died and it sounded awful. He said he basically woke up every day thinking he was going to die and was surprised when it didn’t happen.

if you weren't systematically slaughtered at a young age due to wars and survived disease without modern medicine and other subpar living conditions compared to today. Then maybe you'd enjoy a life with a wife and kids and you also had some power and privilege as man so idk tbh.
