There I was, at a coffee shop ordering my usual double espresso. I had ordered, and as I stood waiting, the cashier (a heavy set female, around 30 years old) says clearly in a voice loud enough that everyone can hear, "Why do you look tired?" I was taken aback but hardly shocked, as I am frequently faced with remarks like this from family and other students at university. Being the beta I am, I stood quietly for a while then said "I'm not paying you to comment on my appearance" and I awkwardly walked out as quickly as I could after getting the drink.
How someone can so brazenly pass judgement on a stranger's looks in front of other people I have no idea. I obviously stick out so noticeably amongst everyone else, since so many people (usually females) are quick to either make snide remarks like that, or to give me looks of disgust. Sometimes groups of them even laugh at me and they clearly want me to notice as they are being so open and loud about it. I know a lot of incels complain about being invisible but sometimes I feel as though that would be better than being... whatever I am.
