School, work interviews, professional training, virtual meetings... they're all requiring you show them your face just to be allowed to survive. No face, no credit/job/money. So you get to sit there and SEE 50 small images of other people looking at you and NOT hiding their disgust.
I had this Zoom interview two days ago. This co-interviewer woman was sitting down as the main interviewer was standing and talking to me. The woman, I swear I'm not exaggerating, looked like she was watching a dog diarrhea all over a carpet. Seeing this screwed up my game.
Online work could have been a way for those of us who look really, really bad to at least survive. But now, they demand seeing you there too. Appearance really is just about everything.
