As much as I like Trump, this is a huge no-no for me. Independence of monetary policy is a cornerstone of any functioning society. The political incentive to print money for political purposes is just too strong, and any society that allows politicians to control monetary policy will soon see hyperinflation out the yang (unless you have a VERY disciplined leader like Lee Yuan Yew.

Trump is bullying Powell because Powell is being responsible. Powell wants to keep interest rates high until inflation is firmly tamed, but Trump wants to make the money printer go BRRRRRRRR to fund his Big Beautiful Bill super-deficit.

I love Trump, but the proper way to lower interest rates is to balance the fucking budget or run a surplus so the capital markets aren't being strained, and the abundance of loanable funds will naturally lower interest rates. You must SAVE to invest, don't use the printing press, or a bust will surely follow, an economy depressed!

Wow, I actually agree with you on something.

Hell must have frozen over.

To keep it TLDR:

1) At least ideally, he wants to shrink the size of the Federal Government, or reduce its rate of expansion. I want as much power and autonomy in the hands of the States, as it gives people more freedom to craft the society they want to live in (each State can be different and more reflective of the people who live there). Cutting the Federal Budget for non-military purposes as much as possible is one way he's shrinking the Federal Government
2) Deregulation, same as point 1
3) He's against Woke culture and cancel culture, his election put a huge damper on SJWs ability to cancel people who say offensive things. It was a big middle finger to those freaks. If Kamala won, they would have felt like the majority, they would have been empowered.
4) He's anti-feminist.
5) He's against DEI and Affirmative action bullshit which discriminates against men, particularly white men

I'm surprised because I'm citing Austrian or Monetarist economic theory here. It's generally associated with the economic right. I'm attacking Trump from his right... I want him to be more fiscally Conservative and more free-market. Trump is acting like a Neo-Keynesian MMT theorist right now.

But you should never forget that he is ultolimately a jewish puppet

I am not that concerned with that.

I'm happy to give Jews what they want in the Middle East if they let us be anti-feminist, anti-DEI, anti-socialist, anti-tax, and build a strong patriarchal society.

I agree that he should bully the fed and having a firewall between them and the government is a good idea.

I don’t think he’s acting like a Keynesian, in the good times a Keynesian would want to work to balance the budget through both increasing taxes and carefully cutting spending so you have the ability to spend money in the bad times to prime the pump.

He’s far closer to Juan Peron than FDR.

That's traditional Keynesianism, Neo-Keynesians like Krugman often believe the deficits themselves are good, and governments should have debt for the sake of having debt because it provides for a "risk-free asset" in the capital markets (treasury bonds). These treasury bonds are great for corporate balance sheets since it allows private sector entities to earn on capital they don't use, rather than be forced to risk it somewhere.

I've read a bit about him, he's that fascist that Kissenger helped install? Was he just a money-printing fascist?

Keynesian economics say to keep interest rates high during good times and lower them in recessions.

He can’t explain even the most simplest economic concept
The idea behind Trumpism is one of capital theory, he believes in cutting govenrment spending so the federal government borrows less from capital markets, this leaves more capital for private sector investors which actually grow the economy since they are subject to economic calculation

That’s what his economic advisers tell him

Then I’m a traditional Keynesian. Didn’t even know neo-Keynesian was a thing. Honestly I’ve a historian by education, never took an economics class or even read an economics textbook.

No, you’re thinking of Pinochet.

But yes, Peron was basically a money printing fascist. Thought he could dictate markets by force of will. Spend massive amount of money and to fight the inevitable inflation he just printed more money.

Here’s a good article about Argentina recent political history.

I’m not thinking of Pinochet, I know Pinochet, and I’m referring to the Argentinian president who I believed was an inspiration for their current VP who was accused of being a closet fascists
