Well, most gamers just play for fun. This guy probably worked his ass off, playing like 12 hours a day or more. Anyone of you can try that as well, but I don't know much about esports. You might even be better off trying to become a pro in a "real" sport, I don't know how competitive esports is, but somehow I got the feeling that you have to play 10+ hours a day to stand a chance, and most players will never earn anything. They will just lose time.
Consider that it's easy to start training. It's more comfortable and cheaper to get a gaming PC and a good internet connection and the game (some of you have it already) than, for example, joining a basketball team, getting your body fit, eating right etc. In esports, you are likely going to compete against Asian nolifers and hikkikomoris, all incels who dream of ascending and play non stop. I don't even think esports requires any talent, just a huge amount of practice.
