He had an interesting take. The opposite view that many people here have, me included. He thought that humans are inherently good, but society corrupted them.

 
Some humans are inclined to evil and some are inclined to good. Much depends on which of those armchair anthropologists are correct, but genes influence the behavior of humans, and if you have genes that drive you to commit crimes, you are more likely to be seen as naturally evil in spite of the environment you were brought up in. A combination of nature and nurture gives rise to evilness. I think most people are inclined to good, honestly.

Well the way we live is completely unnatural and betrays millions of years of evolution. The sandy hook shooter talked about how Travis the chimp's domesticated life wound up and pointed out that we are no different.
