The leader of the group, a LARPing-as-an-SJW Chad Juan, shows his true colors midway through the film (he didn't give a fuck about the natives or the forest, he just wanted money and social media fame).
Chads and Stacies get butchered in seriously fucked up ways.
The natives, while certainly victims of their forest getting destroyed, are not portrayed as "noble savages", and are both vicious and stupid.
In the end, the surviving foid lies so the vile savages that nearly killed her won't look bad, showing us SJW stupidity.
