Serious ‘Ugly as Sin’ is such a telling phrase

It implies that there is something volitional about being ugly. That being ugly is morally corrupt. I believe this is how the brain registers ugliness subconsciously, and though the conscious mind can rationalise that ugly people are not evil as they did not choose to be ugly (because this is what people constantly insist) it is fighting a losing battle against millions of years of endogenous conditioning programmed into the subconscious mind of every human. Our minds are trying to protect us from associating with the sickly, and so it has backwards-rationalised that they are evil as a means of doing so.

Really interesting thread, makes sense when you think about it, human language reveals a lot about us that we ourselves don't want to admit, a good example is "love at first sight". The phrase literally contradictions what love is, noticed its not "love at first interaction/conversation", its just upon sight, meaning instantly based on what you first see, its a literal admission that love revolves around physical attractiveness, yet the cognitive dissonance of humanity prevents most people from seeing this and admitting it to themselves.

Being ugly is truely the deadliest sin.

This is the perfect response for the kind of discussion I was trying to instigate here. If everyone were their conscious mind then there would be little no human caused problems on this earth. It’s a shame most of who we are is contained within our subconscious, and in there we are more or less the same; judgemental over-sensitive narcissists concerned with nothing other than our own standing in the eyes of others. Thank the lord for the existence of language to at least expose this hypocrisy for those of us who know where to look.

I mean yeah lmao. It’s called the halo effect, shit ain’t news bud. Why do you think you’ve been treated like ass your whole life?

Don't expect very many responses like this anymore, the culture of the site has shifted, and people barely pay any attention to threads that are actually interesting, they just want to see low effort meme threads, especially reddit posts of the next guy who got cucked or is in an open relationship.

Nobody really wants to discuss stuff like this deeply in detail anymore

I am just bewildered as to why it is collectively denied, the blackpill isn’t the coveted secret some pretend it to be. Everyone knows it because it’s fucking obvious, I have been blackpilled as long as I have been cognisant of the existence of relationships, since I was a young child.

Everyone knows the blackpill is the truth subconsciously, we as humans operate according to it naturally. Most people spend time actively trying to suppress it and block it out, we don’t

this jesus wouldn't be worshipped at all, truecel
@TheRealChincel
Christianity would have died in the Middle Ages if this little known fact about Jesus had been popularised.

It’s assumed that attractive people are more moral.

I have been on hiatus for a couple of months and haven’t yet noticed this shift. Things were already headed down hill after @Fontaine was banned imo.

Yeah, the early Christians were smart in making Him light skinned with blue eyes.

Maybe it's true and we are evil and sick while the chads and staceys are good and pure

People also say that someone is "ugly inside" as to describe their personality. It is implicitly assumed that ugly is in some way negative and undesirable in the first place.

In german the word 'ugly' is 'hässlich' which means something like 'worthy of hate' or referring as something to hate (from german word - Hass - meaning hate).

I’m not surprised.

halo effect! Chad can do no wrong!

The effects of this can be observed in every aspect of life and public discourse, not just in dating. Take the 'facebook scandal' for example, the vast majority of the public focused on how 'alien' Zuckerberg looked at the deposition rather than on what he said specifically. Morality is just optics

So, so true - high IQ.

Even in the past, particularly in the previous centuries people associated ugliness with corruption and evil. Just look at Shakespeare's Richard III, or the more well known Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde.
