A Turkish man on Oct. 4 died by suicide on the same day he murdered two women in Istanbul.

19-year-old Semih Çelik was first seen after he jumped off the historic Edirnekapı ramparts, dying by suicide.

Then, Istanbul police announced that he killed two women, 19-year-olds İkbal Uzuner and Ayşenur Halil on the same day.

According to the Turkish media, Çelik murdered Uzuner by cutting her head, and Halil by cutting her throat. Meanwhile, Çelik died at the hospital.

Çelik’s father stated in his testimony that his child “had undergone psychological treatment 5 times, disappeared 2 times and had attempted suicide before.”

Meanwhile, the police found charcoal drawings at Çelik’s home. In the drawings, a naked woman's body was seen to be dismembered.

An Istanbul court issued a broadcast ban on the incident which caused a public outrage.

Turkey has made moves in recent years to lessen protections for women.

In July 2021, the country formally withdrew from the Istanbul Convention (the Council of Europe’s Convention on preventing and combating violence against women and domestic violence), a move that advocacy groups say was a major setback for women in the country.

Turkey was the first country to sign the Convention back in 2011.

A horrible way to go if I'm being honest. Jumping sounds too painful.

NOOOOO, we need to protect our women saaar. Please let's not wonder why the Turk went nuts. No, men are inherently like that.

You probably feel your head shatter that one millisecond you still live.

Not to mention the dude died at the hospital, so he must've felt it all. Should've just shot himself.

I could never do the "jumping" form of the rope, I'd rather just go out with a *bang* (no pun intended).

Yes, it definitely is. Imagine falling until the body crashes against the ground or pavement. Bones break, flesh is extremely bruised, internal bleeding, and you're unable to move. Death isn't always instant. It's also possible to survive at least 5 stories which if that happens, the body will be permanently badly damaged. Also paralysis is possible depending on the fall and if surviving.

Jumping from the height he jumped from definitely wasn't an instant death. If you jumped from a skyscraper, your whole body would be crushed before you can even think about it though

There's a 9/11 jumpers video where you can see a body turning into pink mist

I really do admire this guy, he ended all by lashing out on those two skanks in its best sadistic manner he could even possibly to achieve. “O hail Semih Çelik” O hail Semih Çelik”
