It's called psychogenic fugue or dissociative fugue and was officially diagnosed as having it, and it gave me a free pass to skip lectures and hand in assignments late. I took advantage of how permissive/lenient the system has become with regards to "mental disorder accommodation," because something as trivial as "anxiety issues" can get you signed up with the office for students with disabilities (it won't even show up on your records!) and you get all the same perks, but I had to go the extra mile because for one course in particular, I hadn't attended a single lecture and we were already 2 months in, I ended up with an A- in that class ded srs. And this was from a top tier university, so if I was able to get away with this in 2013, you sure as hell can get away with it today
The real reason for my absence though, was face, jfl.
Dissociative fugue, formerly fugue state or psychogenic fugue, is a dissociative disorder[1] and a rare psychiatric disorder characterized by reversible amnesia for personal identity, including the memories, personality, and other identifying characteristics of individuality. The state can last days, months or longer. Dissociative fugue usually involves unplanned travel or wandering and is sometimes accompanied by the establishment of a new identity.
