I think it was same for me as well.First time i got tagged ever was today by @Lolimancer
they use discord and talk amongst themselves and sometimes argue about something to a point where it has little to do with the original thread. They banter and tease each other. Literally the cool kids from hs. But one has to admit that this is usually based on high effort posts or by catering to the tastes of another high level user. Also they are ancient and have accounts in other forums as well
They also keep the forum alive and prevent it from disintegrating in a puddle of low effort spam and clickbait as they have a large influence on the rest of the forum due to their status
Also not every high level user is same, some are more approachable others are more elitist
