Without the internet, I would have nobody to talk to except my mom.

about 80% of my time outside of sleeping has been on my computer the past 3-4 years
At least you can talk to her. I'm not really allowed to talk to anyone in my house, my mom is busy most of the day and later on my dad is home and doesn't want to hear anyone talk despite him sitting in the living room/kitchen I'm not even allowed to discuss how to cook properly with my mom, I'm just expected to be shut up, stay in my room and do nothing to improve the quality of our food even when I'm the one making it and all of my changes have been things that everyone agreed were massive improvements despite taking the same amount or even less effort.

That's how I lived for years and they didn't care, but if I do that I'll be stuck eating shitty food because my mom doesn't know how to cook after all these years.
