yea but you have to learn how a face actually works, the only way to do that is learning realism, otherwise you'll be just copying other stylized artists and it'll never feel natural

Most artists in general went to artschool, try to ask them how did it help, most of them regret it. There's no secret knowledge in art anymore, you can finding everything in the internet, only reason to go to art school is if you're lazy or you need competition around you.
The degree is WORTHLESS, all people care about is your portfolio.
