Told someone off at work. Did I have the wrong attitude?

I work in an office besides an older man in his 60s. He is the dad of the company manager, and his mother is the owner. This old man has no respect for peoples boundaries. He says what he wants to people, is rude, jokes around in a cruel way, etc. He’s said a few things about me, especially about my looks, until one day I told him off and said his behavior is childish and that it’s not fucking funny anymore. Now he’s playing the victim saying that I’m a brat or whatever. I haven’t talked to him since. I just say good morning and have a good day but I stay quiet in my chair unless it pertains to work. So now he’s telling the manager (his son) that I’m not talking to him.
is it wrong for me to limit my conversation?

Btw, I discovered by googling his name that he’s a convicted sexual predator so I don’t think he can work in there because there’s a day care nearby and some kids come in there from time to time.

damn chad, not all of us here have jobs like some rich dude

Why is the title of this post very Reddit

No, you set boundaries, that's cool. You don't have to chat with him, if he keeps being a problem see what you can do with sex charge so he won't be around your workplace anymore

Should have told them on
