I got my license but I have no car and no motivation to work due to being socially stunted, so I wouldn’t be able to afford gas money either
No, i feel really shitty about it too because it shows i fucked up early and i don't have the functionality of an adult, i got locked out of so much opportunity because i cannot drive. Idk if i ever will because i'm way too mentally anxious at this point to handle such a task despite how important it is

i have sensory problems and they'd probably make me crash .. and i doubt i could memorise all the associated rules required to get your licence

It’s easy once u drive for a few years. U can basically turn your brain off and u would still be fine.

Yeah. I wanted my driver's license when I was younger but got it at 20 due to my parents not really giving a shit, but just then wanting me to kick rocks and find my own place. Got my first car at 22. I'm close to 25 and I've probably driven 30,000 miles at this point. It's not bad, and to me it's like breathing. My number one worry is other drivers, especially when the snow and ice hit.
If I lived in an area with public transportation though (I live in a sprawling suburb which is just miles and miles of houses and apartments with zero public transportation), I'd be set and would have gotten a job longer ago.
