Maybe with medication can symptoms be reduced but it's a clear indication of mental illness when it has reached a point where there is a physiological difference between them and a normal person.

I worked as a security guard for securitas a short while in my early 20s at a train station and I saw lots of such people, wide eyes, glancing, jerky movements, they often turn their whole head to glance, fiddle with their hands and cross it over their stomachs / groin etc and it's always the women that are the most violent and dangerous because they are underdiagnosed and just get a slap on the wrist for their behavior.

Damn sounds like a real seedy place, the trainstation I mostly worked at was notorious after dark but in the grand scheme of things it was a pretty calm place overall during my time there, mostly parkbench alcoholics that minded their own business but had to be escorted during closing time, some dopeheads warming themselves, and city slicks that needed help and the occasional rude dillweed and teenagers but I never really had a situation where I felt my life was at risk.
