i've recently been watching gameplay footage of the original mirrors edge, not that shitty, necessary reboot from 2016 that nobody wanted.
i mentioned it in a thread on games i used to love, but i'll never play again.
incels.is
but despite that, theres something about the game that draws me back to it.
even though i've not played it in years and said i'll never play it again, because i don't like games with foid protags.
many others love this game from 2008 too and it has a massive fanbase online.
if you look around, you'll see shitloads of fanart and videos on yt on why people love this game.
the musics also fucking sweet too.

funnily enough, mirrors edge was a bit of a marmite game for some people when it first came out.
but its uniqueness and originally of the game being a first person parkour platformer really made it stand out from the others back in 2008.
even though mirrors edge sold enough units to be profitable, the game never got a sequel, even though it ended on a big clifhanger.
instead, EA released a reboot to the game in 2016, which is weird because at that point, mirrors edge wasn't even a decade old.
unfortunately, seems like mirrors edge is just another dead IP that EA will never use and instead horde forever so no one else can do anything with it.
seeing mirrors edge now, its pretty surreal to see how gaming and the culture surrounding it has changed.
it was certainly a lot better back in 2008, then how it is in 2025, so the game feels a little like a product of its time.

is there a game that you used to play in the past and loved, but will never play again?
i used to love fallout new vegas, but i'll never play it again. i already explained why in this thread here. https://incels.is/threads/i-will-never-play-fallout-new-vegas-again.704260/ when i was younger, i used to play lots of call of duty and medal of honour. my father got me into those...
