It's a disgustingly common trope that incel traits should be used to identify a bad situation or a bad character that opposes the main characters and often times the central theme of the work.

In this video, it is used to generate innate disappointment when contrasted with the character traits of a Chad, that the other person was inherently worthless and undesirable. It's found in every single piece of media you could imagine, it's an extremely noticeable "subtlety" in film making and literature that has existed for as long as humanity has had the ability to write or record.
