Their role is to provide shelter to abandoned animals.

Like if cats don't stop being born in my yard, I don't want to deal with that, I don't want to have infinite cats in my yard.
The ethical thing would be for you, instead of abandoning an animal, to take it to a refuge, but they won't disappear

Maybe neutering the animals, but they have a relatively long lifespan and breed freely on the streets

In some places they sacrifice animals that are not adopted, I understand.

But I think that the general system is a bit unsustainable, because they reproduce more than they die, like normally they are born in litters

They talk about actions to reduce this problem, policies that are not forced dictatorially are useless. the number of people who care about this will always be tiny
