And I know from experience that you're right, discovery is the best part. It's like when you first start playing a certain genre of video games or an MMO. It's all new, it's all exciting. You don't know what the hell you're doing so it's really fun, you don't know what's next. It's like a movie that's not yet spoiled for you. And then later you know everything. You went on the wiki, you read the best guides. It's all just routine now. Even if you do new things that you haven't done before, they feel like the same old shit just with a few tweaks or with a different coat of paint on.

Exactly, looks + material wealth (or at least a good job) is what people look for in a mate. They can't ask for more even if they wanted to, the chances of finding a good person they get along that also meet the looks+wealth prerequisites are slim. And that's in the context of a normal person's life, that has a social circle, friends and acquaintances. They go to social gatherings and they interact and socialize with a lot of different people.
