So we all hopefully know by now that talking to married woman is generally a waste of time, unless she gives you unmistakable signs very early on that she is unhappy and looking to escape. The majority of married women will instead give you IOI’s out the ass, and then fall back on the ring when you make any kind of sexual advance. They love the fact that they can flirt to their hearts content without intending any real indication of interest because they don’t have to make up some lame excuse like the rest of the girls or have their friend come save them, because there’s a rock on the finger.
The question then becomes does it work the same way for women with boyfriends or dates who are present at the time of the pickup? Now I know that boyfriends who are not currently present, generally might as well not exist if you have a decent game, and can make the girl consider her alternatives (namely you), but the question is if he is there.
Tonight I went out to see my friend’s band at a bar. I wasn’t setting out to sarge, but the opportunity is always there. I actually worked on the bartender for a while, which may even be a harder target to judge interest with because ultimately you’re just a tip, but that’s not important. I was rocking out, mostly just jamming by myself but I felt like I was getting eyes from this HB7 across the bar. She was with another girl, 4 at best, and two guys, and it looked like she was with one of the guys. I didn’t open even after the approach invitations because I’m still not cool with breaking into a mixed set where it looks like everyone is spoken for.
That is..I’m not cool with it until it’s almost 2AM when the bars close, the music has stopped, and I’m still looking to go home alone. The group with the target split up leaving the target with the other guy, not the one I thought she was with, so I decided to open. I opened asking about the band, particularly I spoke directly to the guy while putting my hand on the target’s shoulder and said “If you had to rate the singer (it was a chick singer) on a 1-10 scale what would you rate her?” This worked because there was some confusion whether I meant on singing or looks and that led to some decent conversation. Either way, the guy comes back while I’ve got my arm around his girl and she’s laughing at everything I say. He does nothing to try to establish that she’s with him and so I start thinking this might actually work. Ultimately, he leans in and says something like “we need to go meet up with so and so at so and so bar” and it’s “nice to meet you, I’m out.”
Can you take IOI’s and group dominance to mean anything when the other guy is clearly orbiting on the outside waiting for you to finish? Is she talking to yo because you’re the alpha male holding the attention and establishing the right frame, or are you in entertainment mode as “the guy hitting on her” and she can break to go back to the other guy at any moment?
I imagine both are possible under the right circumstances, and the question becomes how to tell. I haven’t tried breaking into a lot of mixed sets, largely for this reason, and if I’m gonna take this step I need to know how to draw that line and figure out her intentions.
