Depends on the individual I think. For some people being blackpilled will benefit them in giving them the knowledge that will enable them to make smarter choices, aka they learn the actual rules of the game so they can start playing it properly (even if that means giving up on dating, they can try to find another purpose in life than procreation, etc). To others it'll just enhance their depression and nihilism and they'll probably give up on everything.

False hope inevitably leads to expectations. Expectations based on false hope inevitably lead to disappointment as they will not be met. Continuous disappointment leads to depression/anger/confusion etc.
