I was reading le Reddit, and came across this commenterino about explicit sex culture:
It is clearly written from a neurotypical perspective, which places high emphasis on the merits of manipulation and mendacity as they concern socio-sexual relationships, rather than honesty and consistency.
And it is all the more mendacious for the fact that the neurotypicals who have this view aren't actually interested in restricting sexuality, but just playing mind games where they can turn each other on through a sort of neurotic eroticism, in which teasing and the "sight of an ankle" excites them and releases a stream of dopamine in their brains.
Perhaps the more sexual experiences you have, the less sex itself excites you, and the more the "romantic" lead-up to sex excites you, in line with the mechanisms of dopamine generally:

When you become more certain, your brain uses dopamine differently. Instead of firing when you eat food or spot danger, for example, dopamine fires in anticipation of those events. Dopamine is far from a “pleasure molecule” as it has been characterized by popular literature. Once a behavior is learned, it has been most consistently associated with cravings and urges to act.
