First off, the music BY FAR, is so fucking good. Every single game (even the spin-offs!) have some of the best tracks in my entire eardrums history. Besides that though, I feel like a lot of the games, even the supposed best one "Yakuza 0", have a ton of writing flaws. The combat is basic, which is fine. It wasn't going for a hardcore fighting game, like Godhand. Or something. It also changed a lot of it's direction in terms of tone over the years. The first one "Yakuza 1" was gritty, and had little to no comedy, afaik. But then it just became ridicloulous and started breaking numerous laws and rules in the universe, and cliches became VERY established. (Rubber bullet, ring a bell?) It just became worse and worse, but the combat became a bit better with each game, admittedly. The stories had numerous plot hole, dumb moments that made no sense, and a lot of other issues. There's way to much to speak about for each game, and the series as a whole. What are your guys thoughts on these games?

I personally love the Yakuza franchise. So far, it's one of my favorite modern game franchises. I have played 0, Kiwami 1, Kiwami 2, along with 3 and 4. I am waiting for a good time to play 5 because it's really fucking long. Like 50+ hours with just the main story.

The fanbase can be a bit weird though, which is my only complaint, along with Kamurocho being recycled too much with the first few games.

Yeah, I agree! I still love Yakuza. I just miss some of the more attention to detail and characterization of the older games (1-3) The substories are a major one for me, they took such a massive hit IMO

I'm stuck at Yakuza 4 since 3 burnt out me so much with awful story and gameplay (blocking npcs forever each fight). I enjoyed 0 a lot, kiwami 1 was fine but kiwami 2 was more fun shame that they made yk2 uglier than the original 2. 3 was just awful in every single way.
