This makes you look like shit, despite losing weight! No one ever talks about this!!

When you diet, the body compensates for the calorie deprivation by retaining water, which causes you to bloat up and get puffy looking. I think it does this because it wants to preserve as much of your body mass as possible. So, it replaces the tissue it loses on a diet with nasty fluids that end up making you look worse than when you were heavier. As a result, foids treat you even worse than before. It fucking sucks!

Even after you finally get down to you goal weight and get off the diet, it can take literally WEEKS for the water retention to gradually leave your body. You'll have to endure being treated like shit (and feeling like shit-- bloating feels bad) by everyone even more than you're used to. :reeeeee:

Just to add, refrain from taking foods with high sodium content.
 
Will this actually prevent water retention while dieting?
Actually not quite, but a large presence of sodium in the body would result in more water retention.
