It's because now drunk off of power they view themselves only as arbiters of truth and objective reality reducing all opposition to them as offensive heresy. We're going into a direction now where Marxist secular politics is becoming the new state religion and historically as we enter a time period like this it's only a matter of time they get the inclination to destroy or kill off all the heretics. Throughout history that is always how this ends.
