No pressure to watch both or all of them. The first one is funny. The second one I got through about 30 seconds before I felt annoyed lol

IT'S THE SAME DARN CONSOLE BUT WITH SLIGHTLY BETTER HARDWARE.

Yes it's going to sell despite the low specs. But that's not because of Nintendo's magic, it's because it's a HANDHELD.

Obviously a handheld will have lower specs.

OK... I'm calm, I'm calm. XD

It's just a bit tedious watching people like :soy: over something so incredibly mundane. I can only assume that they must really like the first-party titles.

We're more interested in Nintendo's games than its consoles, and I welcome the improvement over the current Switch which was really at the end of its life. I can't wait to discover Metroid Prime 4 at the end of the year.

Yeah I can get that if it's about the Nintendo games.

I'm not really into any of them, but for people who are I totally get it.

I haven't always been a fan of Nintendo and it's only recently that I've taken a particular interest in their games as they offer casual games and therefore an escape from stress.

It's probably age that plays a big part because when you're a kid you're looking for challenges you're still full of ambition etc. but when you're an adult you're just looking for a pressure-free moment especially as an incel , I take refuge in games so as not to have to endure the same exactions in society.

That implies that I'm less mature because I don't play Nintendo games lol

Looks underwhelming to say the least but I might get one anyway because why not, I don't have a Switch yet and there isn't really much I want to spend my money on anyway.

Sorry, that wasn't the conclusion I wanted to reach. I just wanted to say that interests can change according to external pressures.

Immature people are those who play games for the sake of being edgy and dark

I don't really see a good reason to choose one over a Steam Deck?

Ah OK. Yeah that's true to some degree I think.

Hm. What kind of games?

Immature people... huh. I actually don't know how I'd summarise it tbh. If someone is happy and lives a reasonable life then I'd say that's pretty mature.

Idk, games that take themselves too seriously and try to convey a moral or encourage reflection, basically pretending to be more than what they are.

For me, games have always been about fun, and can never replace other forms of media. I'd even go so far as to say that the gaming industry went to shit the moment they tried to offer the same kind of content as movies with cinematic games.

Steam deck is digital games only right?
I prefer physical media.
The advantage is that you are actually owning them and it's the only console on the market that sells cartridge games, so it's ideal for preserving them compared with discs

Yeah I find them boring too, for the most part.

Which is odd as I love Shenmue.

Usually if I really want a physical copy I will just buy one even if I don't have the console XD

That was my logic with Xbox. I was thinking that a Series S is way cheaper than an X, so I may as well get an S and Game Pass (if I decide to get one at all) and then if I *really* want a physical copy I can always pick one up later anyway when the price comes down.

I agree that they can be kind of cool.

Maybe because you're a Sega fan lol

Before the Switch, I had bought an Xbox series X in digital version, so without a disc drive, just for the gamepass and to enjoy the superior graphics. I was disappointed by the content on it, even though it comes with a few gems. I'm also not a fan of Netflix-style consumerism in video games, which really feels like fast food. Personally, having a console and buying boxed games one by one rekindles that nostalgic flame in me.

I really don't know what it is. I mean, at the time it was a very new experience for me, and it was also a new experience for gamers in general really.

It also had a very unique and powerful atmosphere I think.

Mostly these days I prefer to either watch a movie OR play a game... I don't necessary want a fusion of the two.

I think its OK, it does the job for which is meant. They're all too expensive, as there's no handheld competition.

I feel like people perceive the Switch as a home console, and then are amazed that they can carry it around with them.

Kinda silly IMO. If you - rightfully - perceive it as a handheld console, then the only real difference is that it's fairly easy to connect to a TV.

I actually have no idea how easily the Steam Deck connects to a screen... but to be honest I doubt it's that difficult. You might even be able to get a dock!

The Switch... is OK, yeah. Not a bad handheld. But yeah nothing too mind-blowing unless you really like Zelda or something.

Nintendo was always like that, made to appeal to Nintendo fans and kids and non gamers. They couldn't compete with xbox/playstation so they didn't even tried. For me its drawback is its size, first one was too big, second one completely beats the purpose of being portable. On smaller screen games would look better.

001 copy

Oh yeah it's pretty huge, lol

I guess it's not like many of those older machines where you could fit it in your pocket. You'd definitely need to have it in a backpack or something.

OG 3ds was perfect build and size imo, for rpgs and platforms. For fps and such small screen is a problem.

Yeah it's the same but hardware will be much more strong than basic deck, it will be even stronger than old and busted underpowered deck which isn't hard to do since every 3rd party handheld is much stronger than deck.

The steam deck looks massive compared to almost all other handhelds lol

But... does it really matter? I mean it's not like a phone where there's real benefit to it being pocket-sized.

I don't particularly care about graphics regardless.

It comes a point where it becomes too heavy and clunky to play that way, any monitor beats it so why not use that, so imo it loses its purpose.

But you should care about performance, switch had absolutely dreadful framerate and resolution. And modern pokemon games look uglier than gamecube/ps2 games which is just a joke. Actually psx games may even look better since some had amazing artstyle created with limited specs. While modern devs are nothing but a bunch of talentless hacks that just make ugly games with awful performance and puke inducing art styles.

Anyway I'm going to pirate Switch games and don't care.

I guess but you can just reduce the graphical settings.

That being said of course good specs are a solid advantage.

Yeah he's... a mixed bag. Sometimes he's alright but sometimes kind of annoying or his opinions don't seem to make much sense.

Nintencuck ramblings

they couldn't reduce them further since switch 1 is weaker than modern phones/tablets

Video games are toys for children

It barely looks any different similar to the PS5 pro
