the story of how i became an internet security, "expert." and why my skills ain't free!
TLDR:
is it so hard to believe that a polymath can be a security expert? wtf else am I going to do with my time?
I originally bought my first computer as a word processor for my writing cope. it worked great for that. win98 + win office...
then a bro told me about all the free porn online so I dialed up and got me some...
it didn't take long to get my computer hacked and useless. I lost everything! luckily I backed up my writing to floppies... ,(clippy suggested it!)
my buddy then set me up with a new os and I was back online... this time I was super careful! I avoided porn! I read up - online ofc - about computer security and hacking.
I learned how I got hacked... and how to prevent it in the future.
I learned how to scan & sniff ports... but I didn't know what to do if I found an open one! lol. I only scanned the ones that scanned me...
firewalls are you Fren!
as time when on, and the INTERNET got faster and faster, I kept on top of the various threats and vulnerabilities of various systems and connection points...
security is not a static thing. it's a dynamic thing!
anyway, is it so hard to believe that a cel with plenty of free time, wouldn't use that time in a useful way?
I mean look, you are holding the most valuable tool ever created by humanity. don't you want to learn how to use it? don't you want to learn it's vulnerabilities? it's limitations?
consider it to be like a modern library of Alexandria! are you just going to look at the cartoon/ newspaper/ magazine area? or will you do research in the technology part?
I actually got paid IRL money to fix IRL bitches computers! dudes paid me in beers, lol.
I've even done phone speed-ups for IRL folks! but I stopped, because they didn't use what I taught them. it was a big waste of my time...
anyone can learn this stuff! but it's takes time. it's not something you can acquire overnight. it's also like a constantly shifting snake!
for example the, "antivirus program."
did you ever think it might be malware? that you're far better off simply avoiding shady areas? (or controlling java)
or that a firewalls far more important value is to keep things, IN?
I could go on and on... but suffice it to say, anyone can become an expert in anything these days. all it takes is time.
and last I heard, time is money!
only slaves work for free!
I ain't no gdmf commie!
I don't mind sharing with Bros. but tallfag bullies don't get a free ride on my back!
I don't mean to wave my cyber dick at anyone that doesn't know the BASICs, and thinks I "owe them" my skills.
especially if you run a normie OS! like windows/ apple/ google...
I'm just saying you ought to learn the shit yourself!
in fact; the more I study security shit the more I want to quit!
add the FACT that everything online is monitored - and stored (for an ai to sift through), to the fact that you're computer is probably already compromised at the hardware chip lever (no matter what alt foss os you use) and you'll be stfu online as well as around anyone that has tech in there pocket!
you could say, it's ovER for webcels!
