It's generally thought that oppression is bad. Nobody likes having their freedom taken, and through history wars have been fought by men to free themselves from tyranny. When Nazi Germany burned books and censored art, it was considered barbaric. It's generally considered a fascist principle to have a hatred for the arts. Now, while I do not believe this is true, this is what has been popularized and is what is widely believed. It seems as though every oppressive regime has attempted to censor art in some way or another.
The definition of art is simple. It is the application of human creativie skill and imagination, usually in visual form. Under this basic definition, all drawings fall under this. Even anime, which normalfags will fight you over. They'll scream all day about how Asian art isn't art. This is bullshit, and you should ignore the complaining of this normalcattle. All drawings and music are art, even if you personally disagree with them. Anyone who ignores the definition of art is frankly fucking wrong and should be ignored.
An important thing to note is that police are inherently violent. They are there to carry out the will of the state. If you do not comply with the police, they will use violent tactics on you. Members of our society comply with the police knowing they face brutality and possibly death if they do not. It is the fear of violence that compels people to work with police. When you advocate for something to become a crime, you are advocating for force and violence to be used against that person. This is why it is dangerous to call for something to be illegal: you are advocating for violence to be used against anyone who does it.
With that in mind, to call for the censorship and oppression of artists is to call for violence against them. The artist has no choice but to comply or face violence. While you may not literally be holding them at gunpoint (I do believe this will eventually happen), if they do not comply that gun will come out. Artists who are found in violation of the law will be coerced and forced into a jail cell.
I would argue that threats are violence, especially when backed up with force. To merely threaten artists is an act of violence. Knowing this, we can see that those who advocate for censorship are inherently violent. There is no way to act on this censorship without the threat of violence. It requires government thugs to carry out the punishments to these laws and artists found in violation will be locked up.
There is no way to morally advocate for censorship.
And if you disagree with this, realize that people would love to lock you up for what you say here. By advocating or looking the other way towards art censorship, you are giving power to the people who would go after you.
