There really isn't a third way. Either you believe in at least one god, in which case you're a theist, or you don't, making you an atheist. Agnosticism is a spurious concept, used by theists who claim it's the only honest "neutral" position, making atheism seem radical in comparison. The introduction of a phony third option in what is a binary choice is often used that way.
