One of Ayn Rand's organizations says, "It would be paradoxical to hold as an Objectivist that one had a duty to choose to live. There is no such duty." Yet they don't criticize the fact that many on the left claim there's a "duty to die," which I believe they mean duty to commit suicide. Governor Lamm said the elderly have a duty to die. Rand was against the idea of duty as she said, "One of the most destructive anti-concepts in the history of moral philosophy is the term 'duty.'"
Furthermore, Rand said selfishness was a virtue. How can you be selfish if you have no self, which is the root word for selfishness? Suicide is unselfish.
Also, Rand was opposed to utilitarianism calling it "one of the most vicious [ideologies] ever foisted on humanity." Guess what? Much of euthanasia and abortion is supported by utilitarians. Wesley J. Smith, who's my favorite writer at National Review, says euthansia "policy heartily [is] approved by our ever more crassly utilitarian medical establishment." Euthanasia to harvest your organs is altruism, putting others ahead of yourself, sacrifice, all of which Ayn Rand decried. He also blames abortion on utilitarianism and notes infanticide advocate Peter Singer is a utilitarian.
Ayn Rand did say, "An embryo has no rights" but science agrees embryos are unique human beings." She was mistaken. Now, this is slightly different, but Rand died childless. I think Bryan Caplan was inspired by Rand when he titled his book "Selfish Reasons to Have More Kids." Abortion, which is the opposite of having children, is therefore selfless.
One of the better things about objectivism is that her heir's Wikipedia page says:
Immigration is bad, but this isn't enough. He only said this once and perhaps he's only referring to illegal immigration. That's not enough. This is supposed to be a White country.
The other problem I have with Ayn Rand is that she didn't advocate selfishness enough. She said, "There is nothing wrong in helping other people, if and when they are worthy of the help and you can afford to help them. " I don't think charity should be legal. Also, I'm just not a libertarian.
She also says she's against religion. But religion can be pro-selfishness. For example Bishop Nikolai says, "I am filled with fear as I find legions of strangers fighting over portions of my heart... And then I understood why my heart has become weary, and cannot receive either You or me into its chambers, but instead shoves us to the outer perimeter—pushing the proprietors out to the edge of their property." He's saying we should love God AND ourselves. Self-love is selfish.

In a 2010 podcast, Peikoff explained why he supports immigration restrictions in the current context of the welfare state, and why he does not see this as a contradiction to Objectivism's general rejection of immigration restrictions.
