Yesterday I was playing some modded Minecraft and listening to Rehab Room's new video about Austin Wayne and it got me thinking. I've been in the mesosphere communities for some time and I've noticed this pattern of scam swapping that eventually spills over into the mainstream, with each subsequent scam being more harmful to it's victims.
Just look at the PUA, it started in the 80s, first as an underground movement, then with the progression of the internet it moved online. Those gurus sold tickets for seminars, books and later on online courses. At first it was relatively benign and popular, as you would only get scammed out of a couple dozen dollars and hours of your life and these gurus offered what every man wanted, easy access to women, which the relatively recent sexual revolution took away. Then some men started wising up to the scam, as they kept being rejected and stopped paying, but due to this a more extreme version of PUAs appeared to cater to these clients. Their methods were more extreme and expensive and as such, instead of getting politely rejected, you would get cops called on you. See the progression of harmfulness from rejection to arrest.
Then these PUAs evolved into masculinity gurus who would teach you how the be "a man." Promote gym, sell you various supplements and courses etc. Now you would waste even more time and money chasing ghosts. People like Jordan Peterstein or Richard Coper were there for the mainstream and the likes of Tate and Hamza for the underground. Then as always, some people wised up to the scams and tried to find better solutions which looksmaxxers offered. The mainstream ones would tell you to hit the gym (for looks not for muh masculinity), take supplements (which they are selling), wear these clothes, act this type of way etc. Now comes the most harmful part, people will eventually wake up to this scam and go for more extreme looksmaxxing options. You will have people going to India/Turkey and getting operations which some faceless troll told them to get and end up disabled for the rest of their lives.
