The Law of Attraction is something you can find MGTOWs, redpillers, numales, and foids all promoting as a piece of life changing wisdom. It goes something like this, your thoughts shape your reality, and if you set mental goals and affirmations, and remind yourself of those goals throughout the day, before you go to sleep, etc, then you will manifest them into reality. This line of thinking was popularized by the self-help books of the 1900s that stole and butchered concepts that came from everything from Stoicism to Buddhism to Christianity.
I have this question for the people who believe in the Law of Attraction (which is nothing more than another way of saying you believe in a just universe in which people get what they deserve) why are babies raped? Why are children born into the homes of drug addicts and sexually molested, neglected, and abused?
These are images of a house, a child, and his mother. I ask you this, do you believe that this baby manifested his own death due to the neglect of the woman that brought him into this world? The Stoics and Cynics taught that we could live good lives by governing our thoughts, but they never suggested that we could actually alter the material reality of the universe with our thoughts. So tell me, you listeners of Earl Nightingale, you readers of Norman Vincent Peale, why do you believe in something like the Law of Attraction?
