For those who don't know there is huge drama rn in the chess world. The reigning world champion, Magnus Carlsen, a Norwegian Chad who dated a supermodel, got beat by an up and coming American junior, Hans Niemann, a norwooding sub5. This comes after a defeat against a curry teenager. It's safe to say his form isn't very good lately.
Hans defeated Magnus fair and square in the Sinquefield Cup. He also made a lot of inflammatory comments because he is jestermaxxed. Magnus got pissed. Unable to cope with the loss, as well as Hans' trolling, he decides to come up with a completely insane accusation that Hans was cheating. Was Hans playing engine moves? No. Did any of the organizers accuse Hans of cheating? No.
The evidence? Implied, that because Hans cheated years ago on chess.com, which while terrible is not unheard of in money tournaments, he must be cheating over the board.
Still dubious? Fine. The Sinquefield Cup recently put out a statement that under increased security measures, it was determined that Hans was not cheating.
This didn't stop Magnus Chadsen from withdrawing from the tournament, implying that Hans cheated on Twitter, and refusing to elaborate further. These actions are completely unprecedented, it's the most dramatic thing since Fischer v. Karpov.
Nor has it stopped most of the chess community from coming to his halo aid. The foid chess streamer Alexandra Botez immediately after his withdrawal, tweeted in support of him. Chess.com uninvited Hans from a major tournament, and more uninvites are expected to come. Hikaru Nakamura, a moneymaxxing ricecel, decided to take Magnus's side as expected.
It has been almost a week since Chadsen withdrew and he has still refused to elaborate on an unprecedented move. Which, in all likelihood, will destroy Hans Niemanncel's chess and reputation forever.
