Mewing. Remember that old cope? Does anyone here do that? Anyway, here's the guy who invented it. I got this article on my feed, because Jewgle spies on me being here.

Mewing is cope.
This guy is legit but those youtubers are stupid as fuck.

Mewing = just don't mouth breath

It works on children, after that it is cope.

Last time I heard of it, there were no peer-reviewed articles showing orthotropics "worked" ( provided any additional benefit) for adults like some people and Dr. Mew claim besides being the natural body posture everyone should have.

Well here's the thing: If you had breathing issues due to nasal polyps or deviated septum as a kid, you will become recessed. If you breathed through your nose, you will grow up to your genetic potential. I did the first one by necessity and my face got completely fucked up. Breathing issues are underrated. It literally can ruin your life.

John Mew always claimed it only worked on children but his son started saying otherwise for publicity and money.

Mewing *might* work for kids, but if you're an adult, you only option is wearing a palette expander. Won't have as big an impact on your looks as more forward growth, but should help your zygos a bit and significantly improve your breathing. I'd like to get one for that reason alone.

I had allergies which led me to be a nose breather for 16 years. In return, I now have a hooked nose along with a receded jaw

it can work with adults since the sutures of the skull never really fuse but it would be pretty much useless since it would take decades to see minimal improvements. Still worth doing since it at least fix your hyoid position, it's not a difficult thing anyways.

Chewing is a different thing however but if you have TMJ issues (which many people do nowadays) it's probably not worth doing, even Mike Mew said so.

Good read. Author is clearly skeptical, but still went through with reporting the facts. I think his mind may have even been changed towards the end.
Interesting tidbits:
When I asked her if she’d ever seen an ancient specimen with crooked teeth, she didn’t hesitate: “No, not one. Ever.” Most of the skulls in the Penn collection date from a 40,000-year period starting late in the Stone Age and ending around 300 years ago, yet “they all have an edge-to-edge bite,” “robust” jaws and “perfect” occlusion, Monge said.

I grew up eating bread, oatmeal and milk. I would skip dinner and make my own like that.
I had allergies and mouthbreathed a lot. I am recessed.

My brother ate the beef, rice, vegetables that our mother cooked. And he didn't have allergies. He is not recessed.
