By fashion identity, I mean when people stick to one type of clothes/hairstyle/grooming all the time and it almost becomes part of who they are.
They often cope by trying to make themselves and others believe that they just happen to like that something, like it's part of their personality.
For instance all those guys who wear beanies 24/7. They go "hahahaha i looooooooooove beanies i'm a beanie guy xDDD". No, you've been balding bad since adolescence and you're trying to cover the top of your head. Very few guys with NW0/1 wear beanies like that.
"I'm just a beard guy dude! Beards are manly! They're who i am!!". No you have a shit lower third and the beard hides that.You look like shit without it. That's why you grew it.
"Sunglasses look cool dude 8D" Shit eye area
And most people don't even realize they do this. It's subconscious. They prefer the way they look with the things I've listed before. They might not know why. Or they've been doing it for so long that they forgot why they even started in the first place.
Looks impact so much in our lives.
