I was inspired by a thread about the subject. Upon writing a response, I concluded that it deserved a thread of its own.
Take the following into consideration:
• Whites are the tallest race;
• White countries have the highest standards of living, lowest crime rates, and lowest corruption indexes;
• Whites win the most Olympic gold medals;
• Whites are responsible for the vast majority of inventions and discoveries that transformed the world;
• Whites create the most enduring art in all forms and make the best writers, musicians, sculptors, and chefs;
• Whites are the most good-looking race;
• Whites are the most compassionate race;
• Whites have the most recessive genes of all races.
Although Whites are objectively superior in almost all fundamental aspects, East Asians consistently appear to outperform us on IQ tests by scoring six to eight points higher.
Is the racial hierarchy random or is there something else going on?
The reason behind this gap remains a mystery, but I have come up with three possible explanations:
1. Researchers are mistakenly including non-Whites in the White category. The research is conducted on the basis of self-report and what is generally considered to be White. The problem with such a method is that non-Whites lump themselves, or are lumped by researchers, into the same boat as Whites, thus bringing our average down because they score much lower. For instance, Semites and North Africans are often categorized as White in the United States.
2. East Asian countries are manipulating the results. Both the government and the students are manipulating the results. The government selects the highest scores to elevate its nation's self-esteem and intimidate foreign nations as well as to establish itself as the next intellectual superpower. East Asians are also notorious for cheating, and a huge amount of IQ tests are given in schools. Researchers should look into that.
3. Culture plays a larger role in the gap. While IQ is overwhelmingly influenced by genes, the gap between Whites and East Asians may be accounted for by culture, as East Asians parents constantly threaten their kids and force them to study, which not rarely results in suicide. East Asians fight tooth and nail to score high on IQ tests for fear of ostracization, while Whites barely sweat and still manage a close second. It makes me wonder what happens when we apply ourselves.
