With the day which shall not be named upon us soon, I figured I'd perhaps make a thread covering the hypocrisy surrounded it.
The premise of the day is for couples to show their mutual appreciation of one-another; meaning they are supposed to equally shower one another in grifts right?
Well, perhaps you would be mistaken.
As I covered in a previous thread of mine, the very nature of commercialism & materialistic spending is rooted to appeal to foids:

Despite this fact combined with women controlling more purchasing power, we consistently see advertising which is geared towards males buying gifts for their significant other as opposed to the other way around. In fact, I feel I see more stuff marketing products for foids to gift themselves as opposed to buying something for their husband.
These findings are quite telling:

Once again, this just proves that most modern men are sadly spineless cucks. They would happily pay twice the rate of what their partner -a used up whole- does on a day where they're both to express mutual love, which further proves that foids want to be seen as "helpless" or whatever in order to get treatment this way.
Ah ofc, "equality" for me yet not for thee.
The fact they're 33% more likely to not spend shit, het males are twice as likely to spend over 100% hammers home just how most foids view their s/o. Just an expendable, betabuxx who gets occasional plain sex until Chad is free.

In 1929, home economist and marketing expert Christine Frederick published Selling Mrs. Consumer, a popular book that schooled manufacturers and advertisers in the art of pitching products to American women. Seventy years later, consumer culture is part of the air we breathe, and women's role as consumer seems almost a natural one—a role captured in the phrase, "born to shop." Even in this age of market segmentation, when men are addressed as style-conscious buyers, the association of femininity and consumption remains nearly seamless. And these terms have been mutually reinforcing. Consumption is coded as a female pursuit, frivolous and even wasteful, a form of leisure rather than productive work.

Foids are the Harbingers of Consumerism
Consumerism, a problem which plagues our society today & can be attributed to many of the ills within it. Personally, I consider consumerism to be akin to that of a cancer: It simply spreads & consumes the finite resources we have, and quite literally consumes normies & NPCs in just about every...

That's quite high considering the state of things ngl.Every year, Americans spend more than $20 billion on Valentine's Day gifts, cards, romantic dinners and more.
Around a 2x difference.According to a recent survey conducted by Bankrate, men and women have pretty different Valentine's Day spending habits and expectations. It turns out men tend to expect their partner to spend around $211 on them for Valentines' Day, while the average man will plan to shell out $339 for their partner.
Once again, this just proves that most modern men are sadly spineless cucks. They would happily pay twice the rate of what their partner -a used up whole- does on a day where they're both to express mutual love, which further proves that foids want to be seen as "helpless" or whatever in order to get treatment this way.
And what about the ladies? Women expect to be treated to about $154 worth of V-Day treats, but only end up spending around $64 for their SO. A stat from another Valentine's Day spending survey from WalletHub really drives this home: Women are 33 percent more likely than men to spend nothing, while men are twice as likely to spend over $100. And in 2018, men spent almost twice as much as women did on a significant other ($196 versus $100).
Ah ofc, "equality" for me yet not for thee.

And to add on, ofc it's the demographic most financially struggling -who are supposed to be trying to start a family & get a home- indulging in excess.individuals aged 25-34 being more involved than any other age group.
