Remember years ago I was at a deli waiting in line. There was this boomer customer in front of me chatting with the Becky cashier. The boomer was your average white American boomer, big belly with thinning grey hair. The Becky cashier was probably around mid to late twenties, decent looking compared to most young women, still a Becky though . Anyway, these two were chatting for a bit. They were going back and forth talking about hiking trails, the Becky seemed like she was enjoying the conversation. It's very easy to identify when a woman is uncomfortable around a man, and wants to leave the conversation. This didn't seem like that was the case. She was so engaged and seemingly comfortable in the conversation that I assumed they actually knew each other, like the boomer was a friend of the family.
Eventually the boomer had to leave, they said their byes. As the boomer was leaving the deli Becky and her old hag coworker turned to one another and in unison looked at each other in disgust and said "ew."
Anyway, I write this because often times men delude themselves into thinking that just because a woman actively engages with them that these women have some sort of affection or respect for them. Boomer was probably thinking he had a nice charming chat. She looked comfortable, was engaging when she could have easily cut the conversation short. But underneath that time spent with the boomer she was disgusted. And not only was she disgusted, her old fat hag coworker was also disgusted. This woman was fat and wrinkly too, feeling disgust at another fat, wrinkly person.
