True/Fake is a false dichotomy, voluntariness is a continuum not a discrete classification.
There are too many variables in how much we're attracted, how feasible sex is, and how hard we ought to try, to dumb it down to just a yes/no. Intelligent people understand this.
TBH there actually isn't necessarily any major difference between incel or volcel communities other than the perspective and focus either has on which aspect of their celibacy they focus upon.
No person is absolutely one or the other and I'm betting the fast majority of celibates fall within 55/45 and 45/55 ratios of voluntary/involuntary moods.

The truth of the matter is neither group "knows" anything if they cling to the false dichotomy: we are them and they are us.

Even in regard to a particular sexual target, a % of relative desire (higher for girls you want to fuck more, lower for ones you only want to fuck moderately) would have to be evaluated in regard to the effort that desire spurred forth, effort weighed in respect to feasability in different scenarios. Plus % of sum desire will fluctuate according to health factors like how well you eat or sleep, your cognitive patterns, etc.
