I don't pay much attention to people. Is this really something that's happening to a significant degree?

Also, does anyone have a bell curve chart on American female weight, maybe different ones for different ages? I feel like there might mainly be a lot of fat women, a lot of thin women, and a few women between with the average settling in the middle. Maybe it's just because I live in California though. I'm more interested in median, not average, weight, by the way; outliers can really mess with data. Knowing the shape of the distribution would also help.

Let's say there's a room with nine fitness models. The average weight of the nine models is 120 pounds. One 400-pound landwhale walks in, and the average weight of a person in that room becomes 148.
