Since liberals in the 1950's changed the divorce laws to make no-fault divorce, basically all the bad things opponents to those changes said would happen did happen. Why people got confused is the changes didn't happen right away. It took awhile for the culture to change after the laws had been changed.

The thing is conservatives might not be able to go all the way back to the 1950's divorce laws right away. But they can make popular changes step by step. Or maybe like we saw with abortion bans the people won't even care about drastic changes and the politicians can do whatever they want in one big move.
