Speaking from experience, the more a person watches porn (especially hardcore porn), the more violent and prone to cursing he becomes. So, I think he is right.

He was trying to use this as an excuse for his behaviour he didnt even believe this himself

He probably thought if he put all the blame on porn he could be freed
