Didn't it have like 3 gear boxes? Meanwhile they were being rushed by dozens of cheap mass produced almost disposable T34's and Sherman's. Both of which in my opinion were overall better designed for their role with possible the exception of the Sherman's low power gun which was rectified by the later version.
It had the biggest gun and the best armor.
Germany used much better steel than the allies to achieve better protection levels for the same nominal mms of armor.

I’m sorry, nothing can compete with the Panzer IV. This tank was relevant for almost ten years. That’s an accomplishment I can respect.
If we’re talking rarely used/prototypes, the Sturmtiger takes the cake. Perfection at its finest (let’s ignore the low ammo, low maneuverability, complex manufacturing, etc).

What about the Panzer 8 Maus I think only 2 were produced and it weighed 180 tonnes it wasn't able to cross some bridges
