The reason for the low wages of young people in Taiwan is the frequent establishment of universities.

Everyone wanted to be an anchor and Patty Hou, and each school set up a journalism department; everyone wanted to be a lawyer, wanted to be Xie Zhenwu, and there were many law departments; everyone wanted to be Wu Jigang, and various design departments appeared. But is there so much media in Taiwan? Lawyers too, because the license is good and worthless. However, Taiwan does not have a design industry supported by the state like South Korea, and the idea of design later became "designed". These departments, I call "Dream Cloud Department".
When students do not want to miss difficult subjects such as chemical engineering, CS, engineering, etc., "Eating, Drinking and Playing Departments" that meet the market demand, such as tourism, leisure, catering, and performing arts departments, spring up like mushrooms after a spring rain. Everyone wants to be a teacher of Aji, Wu Baochun, and Jolin Tsai, The school also poured fans into the students, emphasizing that they can play, eat and learn, and the classes are easy and fun.

But after graduating, I found out that I can't be a star or director after studying in the Department of Performing Arts. Travel agencies, restaurants, and catering are all low-entry service industries with low wages and sweat. Other departments can also enter. If you don’t do it, there are still a lot of people who want to do it. Of course, the boss doesn’t want to raise their salary. In fact, these jobs do not need to go to college at all, just graduate from high school and enter the workplace. In four years of college, you have taken a lot of licenses and participated in a lot of competitions. In addition to adding performance to the school, it does not mean that you are better at cooking. In the end, because of the low salary and sweat, many people can’t stand these industries and run away. After four years of study, it is equivalent to white reading.
The departments of grammar, such as Chinese, Taiwanese, History, Geography, and Philosophy, which were originally difficult to find jobs, have become more difficult to find jobs due to the addition of the "Dream Cloud Department" and "Eating, Drinking, and Playing Department". When everyone's foreign language ability improves, there are many cram schools, and the English and Japanese departments that were brilliant in the past also began to decline.
On the other hand, the engineering disciplines of the technical vocational system, such as machinery, electronics, and electrical machinery, were not recruited because everyone did not want to be a black hand, and they were abolished one after another. Taiwanese businessmen returned home from mainland salmon, but could not find talent.

P.S. there's a 5'7'' manlet going to film school, hoping to become a director.
Let's hope he doesn't get HARVEY WEINSTEINED.

This is globally the case, universities are simply market actors that respond to the market. The current university system will collapse the moment good online courses become the norm and degrees will become more specialised over time.

In fact, the reason why ptt asked all the STEM to do master's degree is because of the inflation

STEM in 2023 WON'T be worth it the effort. Keep in mind you're also competing against curry/ricecels with way higher IQs! Terrible competition nowadays (entry level jobs) if you ask me.

Better learn a trade (plumbing, a prime example) so you're better prepared to rebuild your homeland when Chinese troops retake Taipei.

The only real way to win the competition now is to have DA LOOKS

Most of the curries work for peanuts in the IT industry, they get hired bc they're cheap as shit but they're cheap as shit bc they don't know anything. The high iq curries that do know how to code aren't cheap
