Got tired of eating meat. Most of the chicken at the supermarket has been nasty af lately. Beef is good, but got tired of it ground beef, burgers and steaks every day. Decided to switch over to eating beans. I'll probably get sick of eating beans soon enough and switch back to eating meat. But for now I'm cooking up some navy bean soup in the slow cooker. Going to bake some cheese biscuits later when its ready.

Navy bean soup

I eat beans daily with rice

Do you lose your appetite for beans after a while? I've got dried lentils, chickpeas, pinto beans and navy beans. Also have big bag of basmati rice and flour. Soup should last me 3 days, might make refried beans and tacos, and probably rice and chickpeas/lentils later.

Beans are a legume, with tons of fibre, meaning they are indigestible. You're not going to get enough micro nutrients from beans. I suggest going back to meat.

i just drink soylents tbh, all the nutrients i need

This nigga eatin beans.

I will later, just lost my appetite for meat. Needed a change.

This is why you're supposed to soak or pre-cook the beans.

we're sandniggers of course we soak it. soaking and stewing it till it falls off won't curb that tbh
funnily enough that I ate chickpea stew yesterday and currently it's 6 am and I'm BRAAAPPmaxxing, much relief

Ah, nice, it looks good. How did it come out?

I would like to eat more beans.

Can't stand beans, personally. I will never tire of beef

Soaked is best, even for wheat and grains... Then slow cook. Ive done it overnight on my woodstove before...

You also can fast cook them in a pressure cooker. Apx 90 minutes at 15psi. It's a chore but it really saves fuel. I've used a large one gallon stainless steel one. Make a lot at a time and freeze them in portion Baggies after they cool.

If you have super old beans from deep survival storage and they won't cook normally. Grind them up, and cook them.

Words of wisdom.

Ah, nice! Is there a recipe that you used? I have an instant pot which I believe has a slow cook function too. And also like @Emba said I could pressure cook them too (those indeed were words of wisdom, @Emba).

Also, cheese biscuits sound good. Also wondering if there is a recipe for that.

I just just add whatever I got around to it
